No oil pressure what so ever in v12 jaguar

I have a 1990 jag xj12 series 3, 5.3litre v12, the headgaskets blew so i replaced it with a 1984 xjs v12 engine, the only difference was the oil cooler piping onto the oil filter housing so i swoped over the complete oil filter housing and now the oil does not pump whatsoever,is there some difference in the oil flow system in both engines?

Have you tried reversing the pipes and see if that makes any difference other than that there must be a pressure difference between the two pumps try priming the filter with oil before starting.

How many miles will you get out of the v12 motor in a 1989 xjs? Im looking to buy one but it has 250000km on the clock

I would get complete set of maintenance records for that one. 250k is alot for a jag especially a V12. That one is either running on borrowed time or has been meticulously taken care of.

Wiring of coil packs

I recently, April 12, purchased a 95 XJ12 that looks like it has minor problems. Its overheating. The Jag has been sitting for 2 years in a garage. It did not have a current title or local state plates, so it was sitting in the garage.

Anyway, I am restoring it. The prev owner gave me a Jag XJ12 DVD with all the manuals and diagrams. However, it did not have the diagrams I needed for the relays. So, I started to look for manuals. Nothing exists aside from the Jaguar OEM DVD and more expensive dealer paper manuals.

Unfortunetly, the 95 XJ12 has the OBD-1 system on it. I am in the process of finding a OBD-1 for the 95 XJ12. So far, none, but am calling OBD scanner companies.

The site below cost $17 one year and $50 5 years but it has all of the diagrams for all the relays, etc, repair instructions, ...

http://www.alldatadiy.com/contact/index.html

I purchased $50 plan since I plan to keep the JAG. I think its going to be a classic.

I would like to keep in touch with you to share info on self-repair tips.

If you want to split the cost for the site above email me.

1989 XJS V12 furl problem

Obviously, fuel and oil should never be in the same spot at the same time. You have a dead cylinder and maybe a stuck-open injector. The black smoke is from a too-rich fuel mix, so the cheap things to look for are in the fuel injection system. Look at the fuel pressure regulator as well. Good luck, and don't forget to relieve the fuel pressure before you do any work on fuel inj. engines!

Daimler V12 6litre.

I recently purchased a 95 Jag XJ12, April 12.
I could not find the right manuals for self-repairs.
I have the OEM Jag DVD Manuals but they lack diagram details in some areas but are a good source of info.
Recently, bought website help at, $50 5 yrs,
http://www.alldatadiy.com/contact/index.html
It has more detail diagrams.
I would like to keep in touch to share info.
