You need to study or research info on tune-ups
Basically it is a sales pitch, as only spark plugs are left
& tune-ups stopped 25 years ago from a technical perspective
Your not actually tuning anything
You replacing old spark plugs, gas & air filter etc, that has been
called preventative maintenance for over 20 years
For the last 30 years the vehicles Computer does all the
engine tuning

SOURCE: need to know where the heater core and heater

The heater core is on the passenger side under the dash within the heater airflow contoller box. If you had Xray vision and could look straight through the glovebox, then you would see it. The heater control vale for the water flow is on the passenger side top of the engine near the firewall. It will have a domed top with a vacuum line to it and it is placed into the heater core supply hose.

SOURCE: how to preform a tune-up on my 2009 Saturn Vue

It has a maintenance recomendation from the manufacturer for replacement of the spark-plugs at 100,000 miles. You don't list mileage or V6 or L4 cylinder. Make sure engine is cold because the cylinder heads are aluminum and can be damaged if plugs are removed hot or overtightened upon reassembly. Remove spark-plug wires and replace spark-plugs. Sometimes the wires break when you remove them and will require replacement. If you coat the inside of the wires where they connect with the plugs with dielectric grease it will help prevent the wires from breaking upon future disassembly.

2005 chevy silverado v8, some hesitation, rough idling, ses light on and sometimes flashes. black smoke when reving the engine.

Black smoke could mean it is running rich, have a scan done, it is probably an engine misfire code and it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring. the last digit is the cylinder, unless it says random missfire, It may be time for a good tune up and don't forget the fuel injection system, Clean out the intake and do an induction cleaning on the injectors.
