2008 Toyota Sienna Trailor Hitch and light assembly installation?

I need to install a trailor hitch to my 2008 Toyota Sienna LE and feel confident that the simple bolt on style by Reese is within my ability, but I have no idea how to install the trailor lighting assemby into my Sienna. Can someone please explain where to locate and install a trailor light plug for new hitch so I can plug in a trailor with lights for a driving at night. I have been told it is a few plugs behind the rear bumper and possibly in the rear tail lights of the Sienna, but would prefer to ask anyone with expertise or experience before I void my warranty by screwing up. Thanks!

Thank you so much for such a speedy response. To clarify my question: I need to install a reciever hitch on my 2008 Toyota Sienna LE to pull a small 5'x8' trailor. The dealership wants to charge me $500 for a Reese bolt on reciever hitch that is only an 1.25". I was hoping to install a 2" reciever hitch. Their price includes a wiring harness/plug to power the trailor's lights. I am decently mechanically inclined, and am sure I can tackle the installation of the hitch. The boys at my Firehouse plan on helping me, but we have never done any car/van wiring before.

What is your recommendation for a bolt-on 2" Reciever Hitch & Wiring Kit for trailor Lights. Looking for the bang for the buck (towing <3500lbs per Van Max Tow Capacity) and also I mostly concerned about how to negotiate the installation of the wiring harness/plug for trailor lights to work.

Could you please provide a online resource or step by step instructions on how and where to install the wiring kit for trailor lights on the 2008 Toyota Sienna LE? I have heard my model has the wires prepped for a trailor light kit somewhere inside the rear bumper and requires no wire splicing.

    Thanks so much!

    Cory

Can I put a trailor hitch on my Elantra. I want to tow a car dolly (empty)

They do sell a small hitch for light loads, I believe it is 1000 lbs tug weight max, that can be put on your vehicle. The best place to look for a professional installation would be someplace like pep Boys or U-Haul. I say this because of the way your bumper is made you can't really attach to that with a hitch. The hitch unit has to be welded to or bolted up to the frame itself which takes special equipment.

I need to know the requirments and how to wire in my towbar volvo v50 year 2006

The very best information I have ever gotten for tow bar wiring and even trailor hitch parts and installations have been from Budget truck Rental Locations.
Seems that is a major part of their business, installing tow hitches, bars, wiring, to conform to DOT rules and regs.
Hope this helps.

Where do i find the wiring adapter for the lighting wiring for a tow hitch

You may have a tow hitch but no wire harness? You gotta buy a trailor wire harness kit and may need a professional to hook it up because there are a lot of wires to deal with. Normally the hookup it mounted near the hitch it self, but my guess is you don't have one.

Yesterday I had a trailer hitch and wieing

They didn't help you out much did they!? Try calling of Google "Hoppy" and ask their tech line...Or, determine the brand name of the harness the knuckleheads used and Google that...ALL manufacturers have a tech line for assistance.

It should have. If not a reputable hitch like Reese or Hidden Hitch will come with nut plates. Hope this helps.

The trailor hitch plug only has power to the lights but not to the blinkers or brake lights.

You may need a new BCM subharness. Nissan has a problem with that, so they developed a subharness for the BCM.Check with your dealer. They will need your VIN # to see if you need that harness or if it allready has been installed. If it has ben installed, then I would chaek the fuses that are part of that subharness.
