Your airbag sensor system was faulty before but somehow reset itself and is working correctly now... maybe a sensor under your driver/passenger seat or safety seat belt failed at one point but is ok again... The following might also help improve your understanding...
SRS stand for Supplymentary Restraint System, which in this case works with your "Airbags On" indicator. The purpose of the SRS light on your instrument panel is to alert you of a potential problem with your supplemental restraint system. It should blink seven times when you turn the ignition switch to ON or START and go OFF.
A possible fault in the system can lead to any of the following:
(a) The light does not come on when you turn the ignition ON.
(b) The light stays on after the engine starts.
(c) The light comes on while you are driving.
Apart from the conventional causes of these faults (faulty airbag system), majority of the light indicator problem has been attributed to ignorance while fixing or repairing mechanical and/or wiring systems within the vehicle.
If the SRS indicator light alerts you to a problem, have the supplemental restraint system inspected as soon as possible. If you ignore this indication, the airbags might not inflate when you need them.
Likely Causes:
* Sometimes, a little adjustment of your seat belts and/or seat positions might fix the indicator problem over time (if the sensors are not faulty).
Precautions:

The indicator light does not change. It starts up saying "Airbags Off" and then the lights go off as the car starts up. So, I do not know if this means that I don't have my Airbags on at all or not. Since the "Airbags On" light used to be on all the time. This is strange, and slightly scary.
The lady at the dealership said that on this model of car that you can't turn the Airbags off or on, but couldn't really assure me that the Airbags will be on while I'm driving.
