1999 grand cherokee engine starts butwill not move in any of the gear selections. Scanned with autoenginuity scantool shows dtc codes p1767 and p1784

P1784 low reverse pressure switch sense circuit.
Start by checking fluid level and condition. then check electrical connections. if all ok, probably solenoid in the valve body assembly.

P1767 Transmission Relay Always On. Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)

Start with the simple and Check your fuses and transmission fluid level, if the level is good and the condition of the fluid is good. There may be an issue with your solenoid or your transmission pump. You can check your pump buy checking your transmission fluid level with the engine not running and take note where the level is. Then start the engine and check the fluid level again, if the level has gone down. The your pump is good, if it does not go down. Then your pump has gone bad and your going to have to rebuilt the transmission or replace the pump.

You better of replacing the whole transmission of the pump has gone bad, since the low transmission fluid pressure would have worn out most for your clutches throughout the transmission.

Thank you for using Fixya and hope is just a simple Solenoid that has gone bad or a wire harness that has shorted out.
