After having a dead battery I replaced it. I have no Guages Tach, or Speedometer. I do how ever have an Overdrive Off light that is on which is odd since the car is a standard. Fuses, Circuit breakers,and some wiring have been checked. Could not see a problem. Any ideas what could be causing this - just from a dead battery?
Ya need to reset the computer, easy said than done tho.
take it down to the dealer and git them to do it fer ya. Probably cost ya around $20 to have it done.

IT WAS LOCATE IN UPPER OF THE BRAKE PEDAL
BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT CHECK FOR :-
STOP LAMP SWITCH AND ASCD CANCEL SWITCH CLEARANCE
1. Twist and pull to remove switch.
2. Pull up on brake pedal pad and hold.
3. Insert switch into retainer until switch plunger is completely depressed.
4. Turn the switch until it locks into place in the brake pedal bracket.
NOTE:
When turning the switch to lock into place, the switch backs off the stopper to the correct clearance automatically.
5. Release the brake pedal pad.

I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!

I finally broke down and took my truck to the dealer. It took them two tries, but they finally figured it out. It turned out to be the wiring harnes for the shift lever. When it exits the steering column, it was being chafed, and eventually wore through a wire and was intermittently shorting. It would blow a fuse (don't remember which one - I think it was on the bottom row, third in from the right. 20A). It stopped the alternator from charging too. They replaced the shifter harness and the problem went away. I did get a ticket while my speedo was inop however.

Its your odemeter cable its run out of luburcation and its getting hung up. Reluburcate the cable
