I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado, the trans doesnt slip, but it won't shift out of 2nd. gear.
It just holds 2nd forever. Is the 1-2 shift point high?
Do you know what trans you have? 4L60E? If it just holds 2nd it sounds like a shift solenoid stuck on or a stuck shift valve. Do you have a check engine light? You could try unplugging the transmission connector. Passenger side rear or trans. This should force the transmission to stay in 3rd. (both solenoids off). Sorry 4L60E has no modulator or TV cable, Pressure and shift points are controlled by the computer.

94 silverodo has a 4l60e trans no 3rd or o/d slipping. when this happend eng light came on code is for map sensor, trottle postition sensor, friend says has a 94 blazer i take for the day run good so i pay someone to put trans in he calls me last night we take for a test ride. its the same wave as the other trans 3rd and o/d does the same thing is it the computer one of the codes help please thanks

Thanks for reply. No it's rather low, feels kind of normal shift, I can take it to around 50, let up and then accelerate and still won't shift.. also it's a 1994 Silverado. hopeing it's just an electrical problem, is there a modual valve as on the older ones. Thanks, Jim

My check engine light came on.
And the very next day my transmission will not shift into 3rd gear.
Everything else is fine.
1997 1500 silverado with 168000 miles
Sometimes won't shift out of 2nd gear
Slip in shift 2 and 3 shift gears
