Removing/replacing car stereo in 2001 toyota 4 runner
I want to take on this project, and I haven't done it before. I think w/some direction I could do it. anyway, I wanted to inquire about removing the dashboard, or whatever I need, to get to the stereo to remove and replace. I got the 4 runner with a crappy aftermarket stereo, and I'd love to replace it with the factory stereo (which I do have). Is there a site with a diagram/explanation?

91 4 runner immobiliser with an equator immobiliser
I have a toyota4 runner which has an equator immobiliser now she won't fire have spark and fuel but won't start As old as this vehicle is you might think of replacing it with one that fires has spark and fuel.Goodluck )
if its like the 4-runner or the tacoma its not very hard at all. its not too hard to get to so i think youll be ok i havent done one on this truck yet so im only guessing.
Sounds like one of the auxillary belts slipping it may just need tightening up. I think the 4-Runner has two belts one large and one for the steering pump
He's right I would check Neutral safety switch first. Make sure B+ only comes out of one end of it when pedal is released. Only time B+ must be out of both sides of this is when pedal is depressed. Ignition switch can't go to starter directly B+ starts at ign switch to neutral safety to solenoid on starter.
Most neutral safety switches can be adjusted.
This light is to advise you that it is due for replacement. If its been done earlier the interval may not have been reset. Any dealer or someone with vehicle diagnostics gear should be able to reset it.
