2003 Saturn Vue with a identity anti theft system. Replaced my battery a few months ago. Couple weeks ago noticed a little difficulty starting up. Last week wouldn't start just clicking noise. Jumped it and it started right up. Started okay for a few days then sat for one day and wouldn't start again. More clicking. Started right up with a jump. Had battery tested it is fine, connections are good! Could this be a anti theft issue or something else. This is what made me change my battery few months ago!!!

Anti-theft system has nothing to do with it . Battery cables , maybe , Park neutral safety switch possibly ! With anti-theft system problem you wouldn't a click or anything , that is if the anti-theft disables fuel or the starter . Plus the SECURITY light would be on if it were a anti-theft system problem . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to do starter circuit testing >

And what's this identity anti theft system ? No such thing ! The vehicle has a content theft an vehicle theft deterrent system !
This system disables fuel not cranking of the engine. The VCM/PCM will not disable the fuel due to any BCM message for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
If the VCM/PCM does not receive the same password from the BCM as the last learned one, the vehicle will start and then stalls due to the Fuel Lockout.

No, you can't disable it, you have to fix the problem, not try and find a way around it.

There is help to reset, but you probably need an auto electrician or a local place that installs alarms and remote starters. The both have pro grade scan tool computers to diagnose the problem.

This sounds like a failing security system to me. If the key is not being read properly by the antitheft, it will not allow your to start. The system thinks its being stolen so it shuts the starter and/or injectors off. The fact that it works an hour later sounds to me that the system is glitching and not ALLWAYS reading properly. Anti thefts are expensive to fix, but fairly cheap to bypass.

try a re-learn for your anti theft...turn key on for 10 minutes, shut it off, for 10 seconds,3 times.........also, it may be a possible defective starter!

we have a 2003 saturn vue which we installed new tires on and we noticed a noise about 6 months afterwards. it sounded to my wife and i to be loud road noise from the tires. the car was driven for 6 months and we decided the noise was annoing. had the tires checked only to find it was the left front wheel bearing which was replaced and stopped the noise.
