Clock and Radio light went out...

How do we fix it? Possible to do without taking out the entire dash board? I can see the light of the numbers but the backlight is out!

Yeah, what would be great to know is if it's a light or an led in there before I go ripping the thing part. That is more info that what I had before though.

I would start with fuses.

The backlight is probably burned out of the radio. I believe the plastic bezel around the radio takes 4 screws to remove (2 on top and 2 on bottom) and the radio then takes 4 screws to remove (2 on top 2 on bottom). If the radio and everything still works i would say its the back light is burned out. hope this helps

Geo prizm radio 1993. All of a sudden radio won't go on at all. switch seems a little loose but no clock time showing power either. Says it shares a fuse with cig lighter and that works. Help!

seems so. the cig answers are wrong. its ACC fuse runs radio on PRIZM.93
we dont even know what radio is there.
on old cars most have had the radio replace 3 times.
stock (not likely this old ,no?) cassettes?????
then CD added
then CD/DVD/MP3 added
then media center the does everything even runs
MP3(etc) on a USB stick (best of best forever)
see? or ipod, port. etc.etc... even SAT radios.

that is the point here, we cant SEE< we are blind
why ask the blind for help.?
zero photos posted. as are 99.9% on this forum.
and fails mostly just for that one fact here.

why not just buy a better radio head end.?
and the adaptor kit that allows you to just
plug it in and not mangle all those stock wires.
the kit is sold in all autostores in the USA
for like $15 bucks. dirt cheap.
then install the new head end.
this is what all folks do.
or get it done by those that do...

Lights on the radio and clock does not work.

If all other dash lights work, perhaps these are fed by a separate wire, which is loose at some point. It may require some disassembly of under dash panels to be able to trace this wire down. However if you mean the clock inside the radio, one wire feeds both the light and clock circuit. If you have an aftermarket radio installed, they usually have two power wires, one which is only hot when the ignition switch is on. Often installers use a connector which crimps the wires and these are not the best way to do this. If you can find the faulty connection, clean the wires and solder them together if possible.

Engine light on 2004 elantra automatic

anything is possible with electronics. If you had the fault codes read first then you would have found out what put the light on in the first place. It is there to let you know that the CVPU has detected a problem that is detrimental to the engine and gear box and just to try to extinguish the light without fixing something is inviting disaster.. Once you have fixed the problem then use the code reader to reset the CPU to put the light out.

1993 honda accord ex drove in rain, belt squeeled under hood and dash lights { ie.. no idiot lights} went out and car stalled but stayed on now no spark no lights, radio still works but no clock either...

you have gotten water on a 2" x 2" circuit board box in the trunk drivers side near your rear taillights. this has to be replaced. it is only available at dealer. email me back if this fixes it. [email protected]. i had the same problem on my 98 accord.
