Engine number Where would i find the engine number on a 1995 Suzuki Vitara ? And why does it appear on the registration documents as an 'Auto' when it has a manual gearbox ?

The engine number on the G16A/B series should be stamped on the left hand side of the block, at the rear (just before the gearbox bellhousing), on a flat area immediately above the sump. As for the auto/manual problem, either someone stuffed up at the time of initial registration, or it's been changed. Your Suzuki dealer should be able to tell you how your VIN was originally specified, and there is a method of telling from the build information number on the VIN plate, but I don't have that info handy. Could find it if you really needed it.
