Car alarm reset?

1. Unlock the car manually. If the alarm remote is not working, use the key directly. Often times opening up the door will stop the alarm. If the driver's side door won't unlock, try the passenger door.

2
Turn on your car. Put the key in the ignition, and turn the car on. If this doesn't turn off the alarm, try turning on and off the dashboard lights a few times without revving up the engine.
3
Utilize common tricks. Factory car alarms have some simple reset protocols to help turn off an alarm. Most of the tricks rely on using the key in the door; simply put, a lot of factory car alarms have a door sensor, so working with the door might be the go-to for a quick fix.
Put the key in the driver's door and turn it twice to the right, then twice to the left. Then insert your key into the ignition and start the car.
Turn the key into the unlock position and hold it for two seconds before opening the door.

4
Disconnect the battery. If the alarm is still sounding after the initial troubleshooting, you'll want to silence the siren as quickly as possible. Car alarms rely on the electronic component of the vehicle, and disconnecting the battery should both silence the siren and reset your alarm. Open up the hood, locate the battery, and with a wrench, remove the negative terminal. Then reconnect it after a minute has passed.
If it is more easily accessible you can also unplug the wiring harness that connects to the car's horn or siren. If the horn or siren gets unplugged it can no longer make noise.

5
Reset the alarm unit. Locate the alarm and transmitter system; refer to your owner's manual for the exact location. Hit the reset switch or turn it off and on.

6
Remove the alarm fuse. This should both silence and take the alarm out of commission until the fuse is replaced. Find the alarm fuse in the fuse box. Remove it, and put the fuse in a plastic bag. You can store it in your glove compartment for safe keeping.
If you cannot locate the alarm fuse right away, remove fuses to see if the alarm will stop. Doing this will not cause damage to the car, but make sure you return the fuses after you've determined they are not for the alarm.
Some car alarms, when tampered with, prevent a car from starting as an anti-theft function. If you remove the fuse and cannot start the vehicle, you will have to take the car to a mechanic or dealer.

7
Press the "panic" or buttons on your keychain remote to stop the alarm. Because the "panic" button can sound the car alarm, it can also stop it. Pressing "unlock" or the "trunk" button can stop the car alarm because it disarms the car's security system.

8
Seek a mechanic if problems persist. If none these reset methods work, try speaking with a mechanic or dealer. If they can recognize the issues over the phone, the fix might be simple. However, further diagnosis might be needed in person.

Alarm wont set 2008 jeep commander

the car came with 2 RKE FOBs
are both dead.?
alway have 3 FOB if not you can not reprogram a new one. self.
can cost you $300 for more to tow your car to the dealer if the 1 fob dies. never run one fob. or bad happens.
put in a new battery in the FOB for door issues
the transponder part does not use the battery .
the transponder must be good, or the car would never run.
the jeep cuts fuel after 2 seconds if the transponder fails.

My 2000 hyundai tiburon alarmed itself and the alarm is sounding. I have no remote control that works.

Put key in ignition, turn all the way forward, but not trying to start. Let alarm cycle 2 times, when it stops the 2nd time, remove key and alarm should be disarmed. This will only work if it is a factory alarm.

Mercedes vito 110cdi starter motor problems. only when the van

Hi as it starts with a jump start, i would rule out a starter motor problem, i am taking it that what you mean by a jump start is your using a donor battery rather than pushing the van, so possible causes are (1) battery discharging due to a light left on, or the alarm system draining the battery or something similar, (2) alternator not charging the Battery, when you turn the ignition key does the ignition light come on, does it go off when the engine starts?

I bought a Chevy Trailblazer, used, had keyless remote access Viper Alarm after manufacturer. Had trouble with transmission and alarm....took to Chevy dealer they replaced transmission. Now the remote...

You need to find the black push button called the valet button. That is the overide. Get in the car turn the key to IGN as the alarm is going off and then you have either 5 or 10 seconds to push that button once and then 2-5 seconds later the alarm is shut off. To put the car into valet mode which means no alarm at all you put the key to IGN push that button once then pull key out at which point the blue light should turn solid blue.

Or option two is you open a door and hit the lock, then unlock, then lock button again on the remote and the blue led will be solid which means no crazy alarm.

Why does my 1992 Cutlass Supreme talk to me (Stand back, security...somethin') when the battery is dead? And how can I make it stop doing that (other than the obvious solution of never having a dead...

2 possible reasons. 1 is that the alarm is not able to function correctly with voltage that is too low. 2 is that the battery theft part of alarm is being triggered. This alarm is not factory OEM.

These type of alarms used to have a secondary battery that powered the alarm solely (small battery, usually in same housing as alarm). It is possible that the backup battery has failed.

Alternatively, you can have a mechanic or technician wire in a small sealed battery to the alarm that is connected to the main battery through a diode. That way, the backup battery will be charged off alternator, but will not discharge except through the alarm. In any case, even the backup battery will fail eventually and you back to same problem.

The remote is broken, the car starts but the alarm is activated. I can move the car but do not want to drive with the alarm blaring.

Three solutions here

1)disconnect one lead on the siren

2)find the instruction on how to put the alarm in valet mode.

3)order replacement alarm key fob ///have you change the battery in the alarm key fob?
