Van tries to die when i have to make a sudden stop no fault codes . it also on occasion trys to stall when i make a hard left turn. other than that it runs smooth during acceleration and as long as i have foot on pedal. if i left go of pedal as to cost at hwy speed it plunges 400 rpm then resumes after a split second. finally should the van maintain rpm when i let off gas pedal example 1900 rpm at 60 mph let off pedal it stays at 1900 rpm and lowers with road speed

try by replacing the spark plugs and the plug wires and add some injector cleaner to the fuel tank
SOURCE: Engine stalls when stepping on gas pedal and will not idle on its own.
Have you checked the ignition timing? Maybe you need to turn the distributor to the left or right if you don't have the timing light gun
Check and clean Idle air control valve. Make sure its responding to signal as well. Also make sure ther are no vacuum hoses disconnected. This may not be a "cure" but it's a good place to start.

Internal combustion engines requires 3 things... fuel, air, and spark. You do not have enough of one or more of these. If the wires and plugs are old, change them. Air filter, same thing. Fuel filter can also clog up with stuff after awhile. When you take a look at the air filter check where the air comes from. It is possible a little critter has built a home and blocked the air flow (rare, but, it has happened).

Looks like the nozzles have got some deposition on it. Spray some carb cleaner at the fuel intake wiht the engine running. If the sound becomes slighty better/healthy then add some more carb cleaner to the fuel from the fuel filter and start the engine and rev up & down to clear nozzles thoroughly................sodeep
