Fuel filter replacement on a 1999 chevy malibu, Anyone know how to do this, it'll be my first time, any help is appreciated!

The fuel pump is right behind the gas tank underneath the car. You will need to have a fuel line quick release tool to seperate the filter from the fuel line. The other side, i believe, is a 18mm and 20mm wrench.

Not sure but I wanted to let you know 99 malibu has a recall for the fuel pump. It leaks.

If there are no codes stored in the ECM, you'll have to take it to a shop and see if they can reproduce the event. When the engine dies you have to be able to determine if you have lost ignition or fuel to know where to start looking. The fuel gauge problem is another story.

The fuel filter is located under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, near fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line...

What do i need to replace the fuel filter for tools and whear is it located
