There is a security system built-in to the Jeep Grand Cherokee during these years. The reason the alarm goes off is because of a change in the electrical system (like shutting a door) that triggers the alarm. To stop the alarm, either disarm with the remote or unlock the door from the outside with the key. This will shutoff the alarm.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Sport. When using either remote to unlock doors, the alarm goes off and won't reset for a while.

I can only suggest: 1: first replace both remotes batteries.
2: disconect the battery in the vehicle and then reconnect:
3: reprogramme the remotes following the insructions in the manual.

Jeep alarm goes off for no reason after a few minutes

IT is probably just letting you know that it has received the lock signal and has secured the vehicle. Horn beps or clearence lights flask

Alarm goes off even after unlocking with remote

If the alarm has a siren with a backup battery, then check the condition of the siren battery. Is it drawing a large charge (drop in amps from the battery. Run a parasitic drain test). If so, then the siren could be at fault.

Is the alarm fitted with a sonic motion detector? Looks like two tiny speakers in a unit fitted in the centre of the dash. If so, this unit could be faulty.

Many after market alarm systems by the way, tend to only last for a few short years before failing. Is this an aftermarket product or factory?

1997 jeep grand cherokee alarm going off at night

You may have left a door half open, or have a bad door switch. Until you find out what the problem is you can manually push your door locks with your hand to lock them without arming the alarm and still have your vehicle locked, and not have to worry bout hte alarm.
