SOURCE: car will idle but there is no response when

This car uses "drive by wire" technology and uses a sensor to measure gas pedal movement. This sensor the transmits the info to the engine. So there is no mechanical throttle cable. You might have a bad accelator pedal sensor or it could have a loose wire. Take a look under the dash at the pedal and see if you can locate the sensor and verify it is still connected.

Need to locate reset button to turn off alarm

There is not a reset button on a Nissan product. If the security light is on solid when spinning the engine over then the security system is in "LOCK MODE" no matter if you use the correct key. If the alarm does not recognize the transponder (key) and it is tried then you will have to register all the keys to that vehicle. You will need to use the Nissan diagnostic tool Consult II or Consult III. You will need the 5 digits off of the BCM and the Nissan ASIST electronic service manual with the decoder feature. That will give the 4 digit code needed for the Consult II or Consult III to allow you to register the keys.

Or you could take it to a Nissan dealer.

My nissan 350z sometimes stalls after starting

after i replaced the battery in my 2003 350z, it would stall immediatly after i cranked it on unless i gave it a little gas. I fixed this by cleaning the MAF and throtle body valve. Total supply costs were $15 and took about 20 minutes. My Z is not only fixed but runs smoother and cleaner.
