I have a jeep grand cherokee 2004(six cylinder).Iwanted to replace the old spark plugs(champion RC12LYC) with a new set of spark plugs (ZFR5N- MOPER ). When I started up the engine worked properly at the slowly, but with giving itmore fuel and pressing the fuel pad, the engine began to vibate and the code ( p1762 ) is displying on the dashboard screen. plase tell me where is the prblem and what sensor I have to change. thank you for your help
May you needs check the senosr parameter of the Governor pressure sensor in the gearbox ECU , if it beyond normal value replace it. i have met the same problem before

both those codes are for your transmission governor pressure sensor .and your pressure sensor .to fit them drop the pan in your gearbox .remove your filter chance to change that will it is off. now you can see both your parts.pull off the plug from your governor pressure sensor and replace.now pull off the pressure sensor and replace it.i do not know your level of skill to understand this.you may need a garage to do this.

Plugs are the right ones, (gap at .035 ) Lets start with the simple things first, such as , have you changed grade, and/or brand of oil by chance? Have you checked and/or replaced PCV valve and any filters ? Does it puff smoke all the time, or only when stopping quick and taking off quick? Is engine running at normal temperature, or is it running a little hotter since this started? If all these check out good, perhaps a wet/dry compression test at this stage would be a good idea.
remove the 20" black spark plug bar, it is held down with 2 bolts on the left side of the motor (your left). the six plugs are inline under there. VERY IMPORTANT on use Champion Platuim Plugs.
????1762 should be a transmission problem!!! Makes no sense at all. Review: you had a tps code (but the engine ran well?) You changed it and it threw injector codes and ran poorly...You took it out and put the old one back (was code still there? Did it run well?) You put another new one in and now you have a transmission code? and how is it running? Only commonality here is that the tps runs in tandem with all other sensors Make sure you clear old codes after doing any work and see what comes up after driving through a few cycles/ And get a volt/ohm meter and test the tps to see if in fact it's out of range. It somehow sounds more like a MAP sensor problem..or even a harness problem....but, test before getting anything else.
Your right about the two codes. It's really a transmission part.
As soon as you open up the transmission pan, it right there.
But, I would leave this up to a transmission place. It may need a special type of calibration tool for the new sensor.
CEL Code P1762 is Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Improper Voltage. Make sure all your wires going to the sensor are ok, then if they are I would look into a new Sensor. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!
