1995 lincoln towncar the radio changes one its own - bell dings even with the key out of the ignition - the ignition switch does wiggle - the battery is drained dead if the sets more then one day.

The problem is the ignition lock cylinder, and the small clip (switch) which detects the key being inserted. The lock cylinder should be replaced and most like the ignition switch too, but it is located on the right side of the steering column about 10 inches below the lock cylinder. Not an easy repair, but not brain surgery either. I suggest a professional mechanic or at least someone who has done the repair before on another FORD vehicle. Your radio changes stations because of the electrical "noise" caused by the key "clip".

Program new keyless entry remote for 1994 lincoln town car

Great news, you can program a 1994 Lincoln Town Car keyless entry remote yourself! Here are the steps:

NOTICE: You must have all remotes on hand when performing this procedure. Any remotes not used during this procedure will become inactive.
1. Turn ignition to RUN or ACC.
(Run is forward, just shy of starting car.)
2. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located behind the glove box.
(The connector will have two pins inside of it, and it will not be plugged into anything. Jumping the pins means to make a connection between the metal inside the plug. You can do this by using any metal, a metal paperclip bent in the shape of a "U" usually works perfect.)
All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode.
3. Press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.
4. If programming a second keyless remote, press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.
5. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

How to replace an ignition switch on a 1994 lincoln town car?

Get a nail, along the key are ignition part youll see a small acess hole it will be under wear the key goes in. Okay put the nail in the small hole. at the same time have the key in the ignition as you turn the key it will catch the igition switch releas knob. there you pull the whole key out and with it come the ignition part this is called the tumbler. Okay look at the tumbler do you see that little knob that held it in . Now for the new tumbler to be installed put the key in the new tumbler and work it in till it feels that it will slide in (at this time there will be no use for the nail).once it is in turn on the car on check its movement and if all is fien the job is complete.

When i leave the amp for the radio plugged in for my 1994 lincoln town car it kills the battery within a day

the obvious answer is to not plug it in, or to unplug it before you turn the car off. the only fix is to connect it to a power source which is disabled when the ignition is turned off. pretty much everything in the car is that way, except the clock and the anti-theft and door lock stuff.

I have 1994 the problem is that shifter locks and not move my gears

Is the car able to start? If not then you need to unlock the steering column first by moving the steering wheel and the ignition key at the same time to unlock. Once unlock you should have no problems. Good Luck

What would you do when your 1996 lincoln town car doors won't lock with the key. And the trunk won't open.

How can a lock not lock or unlock with a physical key? Maybe the cylinders are frozen? Try squirting a little oil into the locks.
1996 Town Cars have keys and keyless entry. The physical keys are two, an ignition key and a door key. You can't use the door key in the ignition, nor the ignition key in the door. They aren't interchangeable.
The default key code for keyless entry is posted on the right trunk hinge, inside the trunk.
