The rear door will not open from outside or inside

Question edited for clarity, year make model first and wrong type of 'witch' (lady in a pointed hat and a broomstick) and 'which'.

You are trying to redesign the vehicle to make it work like you want it to. You can't do that, just get it fixed to work electronically.

Open the doors. On the rear doors, check that the. child lock is not on (see the corresponding section).

Hit the door lock with the remote or dr. side will lock all the doors so they won't open from the outside. If you open the rear doors, on the outside edge of the doors is a lever that will allow the rear doors to operate from the inside. Hope that helps

Won't open from outside? Won't open from inside? Equipped with power door locks? IF so, and won't open inside/outside, suspect stuck power door lock actuator. Sometimes working the lock/unlock button will make the door unlock. If not, the door will require disassembly from inside to determine what the failure may be. If the door needs disassembly while in the closed position, the paneling/clips may get damaged FYI

If it opens from the outside, check on the door itself near the latch assembly for a little black lever that moves back and forth...that is the child safety rear door lock and when engaged, wont allow the door to open from the inside...setting the lever to free position should allow door to open (pg 3-5 of owners manual)

Yes there is open doors a small switch should be below the door latch.if you can not find look in the owner manual

Sounds to me like the child locks are on. Make sure the doors are unlocked first( if they are power locks unlock them manually to make sure they are unlocked), then try to open from the outside. It's just odd that both doors are doing the same thing. If that works, and you get both doors open, there is a small switch to disable the child lock near the latch on the door.

Door panels generally can not be removed with the door closed. There are plastic rivets that pop out when pulling the door panel away from the door frame.
