FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO DISABLE AIR BAGS.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST SO YOU WONT LOSE RADIO PLAYING CODE.DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. WAIT 15 TO 20 MINUTES UNTIL AIR BAGS DISCHARGE.TO REMOVE HEATER AND AC CONTROL SWITCH.YOU NEED A FLAT TRIM TOOL USE TO PRY UP TRIM AROUND CONTROL SWITCH.SO YOU CAN REMOVE CONTROL SWITCH SCREWS AND REMOVE CONTROL SWITCH.
To remove the passenger air bag, unplug YELLOW connecter in fuse panel on right end of dash. Remove glove box. Remove TWO 10mm bolts that hold air bag to dash brace and lift out. The drivers bag is held in with TWO T-30 torx. Remove the steering column cover. Locate the two holes in the back of the wheel. remove 2 torx. Unplug Yellow connecter, black ground wire and red horn wire. The bag is then free from the column.
A common thing to fial on these- assumning the grid is ok, and wires are still attched to grid, is the rear def / antenna module. It is behind rt. rear quarter trim panel. The modules burn up, and also melt the connector. the module and connector would need to be replaced.
