My regular headlights don't work but brights do

My regular headlights don't when I turn them on but the bright/high beams do when I pull the lever back. It looks like all the fuses in the glovebox are okay so I dont know where to look next.

I Have not replaced the headlights yet because it seems there is only one light in each and the brights do work so I was thinking it may be something else. I will try to replace the lights...

1986 toyota corolla brights work, but headlights and front side marks don't work. The headlights pop up when put in the on position and all fuses/relays are good or have been changed out with new ones just to make sure. Not sure about grounds etc. and if the brights work wouldn't the grounds be good?

My story Dealing with Dodge

I had a 1994 Dodge Ram. The Red Dodge Ram I had it malfunctioned and my brake became the throttle. I had to put the truck in reverse then park. to stop, after it was out of control at 80 mph a hill slowed us down. Are you sure its not electrical and the curse control is not giving you trouble? Mine had multifunction switch was not working and the headlight switch burned up. I also found out that Audi had problem with the brake becoming the throttle in the 1980s Daimler Chrysler and Audi were German made. I don't think there is an easy answer. I hope you stay safe. Another man is having strange trouble also. I'm sure there are many more people with trouble with the vehicles. I wish Dodge would step up to the truth. and recall their nightmares. I saw many of their 1996 Dodge trucks at their dealers shop with all the electrical pulled out.

Headlights wont work on dim, only bright

Check your head light bulbs, your truck has the dual filiment headlight bulbs one per side which does both high beam and low beam, 9007 bulbs.
If the low beam filiments are burned out only the high beam will work.
Also look into finding out if the headlight switch is gone bad.
The headlight module and or drl module maybe defective.

Replaced the headlights and it seems as though the high beams are not working right. They are on but not right, when you turn on the bright lights should both the low and high beam bulls be on?

Depends on model, most of GM products now have seperate beams for low and high, and some high beams require a different headlight for proper brightness.

My high beam switch won't stay clicked onto bright lights I have dims - but the lever won't keep my brights on. I can hold the lever forward and I have brights - but when I release the lever, I go back...

Try turning the headlight control knob clockwise so that the arrow is pointing up. You may only have it in daytime lights mode and not actually in headlight mode.

Does this model use a 4 headlight bright system? I have 2 low beam lights but when I put on the bright lights the 2 low beam lights go out and only the 2 bright lights stay on.

I think that many 1990s and even some 1980s GM vehicles with seemingly 4 headlight systems actually use only 2 at a time.

My 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais, for instance, had 2 high beams that went on independently of the 2 low beam lights when switched with the turn signal lever.

In the 1970s the GM vehicles had 4 headlight systems where all 4 headlights would go on, but they used sealed beams rather than the capsule lights that are used nowadays.

For instance, our 1976 Cadillac Seville has a 4 headlight system that lights up 4 headlights on the high beam mode.

Good luck on seeing at night with the current set up.

2001 saturn sl1. Headlights stuck on brights and wont turn off unless i remove the fuses. So now only are the headlights on, but they are stuck on brights mode unless i pull out the fuses. what can I do to...

I suggest testing the relay for your highbeams (under the hood) as it sounds the relay is stuck in the on position. If that doesn't work, you may have to test your high / low beam lever to see if the contacts are touching

Right side will not work light glow only

If you have a service vehicle soon light (not service engine soon) this usually indicates a problem with the foreward lamp system.Your problem seems confusing, but check your high beam lamp operation. These cars are NOTORIOUS for corroded harnesses to the headlights. The problem is usually buried behind the washer bottle or across the radiator area. If you are lucky, it may be a burned out high beam bulb. If the blue symbol for brights stays on and there is no click when pulling on high beam lever, you will need a new turn signal switch.

My bright light indicater is working, but I don't have any bright lights?

So, when u turn on the high-beams, the indicator light goes on, but u still have low beam headlights only? Check the headlight (either one), and see if by chance both high beams burned out at approx. the same time. U don't specify what year, I'm not sure if u have a replacement bulb, or a sealed beam headlight to replace. If the high beams are both ok, then it must be the headlight high beam switch. Let me know what u find.
