Engine won't crank after replacing alternator - battery charged

I replaced the alternator and charged the battery on my 92 Crown Vic Now the engine won t turn over. It sounds like the starter solenoid is clicking (RF area of the engine compartment) but there is no action at the starter. I had to drive it about 5 minutes with the lights on while running on the battery when the alternator went out.The lights are all up now that the battery is charged. I disconnected the battery during the R/R does something need to be reset?

If the start is not grounded it will not turn over the motor check battery cables going to start. There are no reset switches .

1999 ford crown vic won't start. changed fuel

Maybe your problem is with the one or many injectors, if just one is bad, you will have problems. Get yourself a multimeter and set it to read in ohms and find what spec the injectors should be at. If out of spec, then you need to replace that one injector(s).

The temperature gauge sending unit is located in the front section of the intake manifold, just to the right of the alternator on the 4.6L engines. Got this from autozones repair manuals
