Surging, jerking, bucking & dies at idle. I was able to drive truough this problem at first and now it will only idle while I feather the idle. I have replace the TPS and the module at the back of the firewall with used parts. Sparkplugs are black carbon over I'm now thinking coil but that would be a $ 100.00 guess

Vacuum leaks and bad O2 sensors reading false lean making over rich fueling conditions . Stuck open injectors, bad pressure regulator, fuel pump return line blockage all increase fuel pressure also .

SOURCE: 1987 F 150 Problem: engine idle stalling and then surges

I had the same symptoms on my 1993 F-150. A friend of mine commented that he could smell gas in the exhaust. Eventually, it got to where it would start, then die after a few minutes and wouldn't restart after that (at least for several hours). It turned out to be a bad fuel pressure regulator that was causing it to flood. It was about a $25 part and an hour labor to replace (not difficult, just awkward getting to the hex head bolts).

SOURCE: car is surging badly when

Have you yet put Fuel injector cleaner in your gasoline tank because if your fuel injectors get clogged up by using the lower 87 octane gasoline that the impurities would slowly over time clog all your fuel injectors to the point that only small percentage amounts of gasoling would be injected by the clogging.

After your discription of P0300 and P1305, would this cause the car to surge and jerk after it warms up?

This points towards the number 2 cylinder ignition coil or ignitor circuit malfunctioning. If it is intermittent, your car will have and lose power, making the engine run like a bucking bronco. A diagnosis is in order, it could be a wiring issue or a bad spark plug causing the symptom. Could also be ignition coil or ignition module. Should be a quick repair. 25315923-dz1fkxf1fwolart5ai0divhk-5-0.jpg

Jerking/jumping while driving

An automobile's ignition system may work fine while idling but fail during acceleration. Problem areas to be inspected include the spark plugs, spark plug wires and vacuum hoses. Car owners should look for spark plugs that are covered in oil or sediment or damaged, spark plug wires that have damaged insulation, and vacuum hoses that are unplugged or leaking. Fuel Problems
  • The use of a fuel additive that contains both fuel injector cleaner and water remover can fix minor problems due to water in the gas and fuel injector clogs. A fuel pressure gauge can also be used to test the injection system to assure proper pressure.
While most acceleration problems are likely caused by problems with the plugs, wires or fuel, a variety of sensors and other components can cause similar problems. a bad tps ( throttle position sensor ) will cause causes transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cutoff, hesitation on takeoff, and surging while going down highway.
good-day ! check and or clean maf sensor if need be. you can by the maf sensor cleaner at most auto parts stores.

smaller fuel injectors or if possible spend 800 bucks for a programmer and lower the fuel ratio at a 50% + throttle mark.
