Either the wiring has worn out or broken or the fuse has been damaged, you need to check out both.

SOURCE: All lights work on the rear except the three brake lights

Sounds like the brake light switch has a problem. Located above brake pedal and activated with the brake pedal arm. Check for power going in and coming out when you apply the brake.

SOURCE: o2 Dodge Dakota Brake lights wont work but bulbs r good.

If the bulbs are good I would suspect the Brake light switch.

Brake Light Switch: Testing and Inspection
The brake lamp switch can be tested with an ohmmeter. The ohmmeter is used to check continuity between the pin terminals.
Switch Circuit Identification
- Terminals 1 and 2: brake lamp circuit
- Terminals 3 and 4: RWAL/ABS module and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) circuit
- Terminals 5 and 6: speed control circuit
Switch Continuity Test
NOTE: Disconnect switch harness before testing switch continuity.
With switch plunger extended, attach test leads to pins 1 and 2. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.
With switch plunger retracted, attach test leads to pins 3 and 4. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.
With switch plunger retracted, attach test leads to pins 5 and 6. Replace switch if meter indicates no continuity.

1991 ford ranger 4/4 has no turn signal replaced blinker still no signal hazard lights work dimmer works wipers work just no turn signal

If I'm not mistaken, the 91 used a separate fuse for turn signals. There's one for four way flashers and another for turn signals. I think it's fuse #5 on most diagrams, a 15 amp fuse. Give that a try and good luck!

2004 Ford Ranger - My break lights and directional signals are not working. My head and tail lights do work. Any advice on what I should check?

Most common is a bad signal light/multifunction switch failure. The brake lights are wired into the signal light circuit within the switch

I have a 1989 ford f250 my hazard lights and brake lights don't work but my turn signal and tail lights do what could it be

Hi Jonathan,

I am not positive, but believe your Hazards work on the 'high' element of your tail lights, similar to how your brake lights do. Recall, when your lights are on, your brake lights are at normal illumination; when you press on the brakes, they're on their 'high' mode. If these high elements are burnt out, they won't illuminate; and accordingly neither may your hazards. Again, not certain on the hazards using the high element, but think so.

Good luck.

1992 Ford Ranger Turn signal/Hazard light issue

Can you just check to make sure the ignition key switch is not staying over to far and not backing off when you try to start it. I had a truck that did that and it messed up my turn signals until I brought the key switch back a little after starting it. Just a simple idea. Be kind with your rating for me. Raz
