I have hyundai sonnata 2006 4 cylinder. it has just completed 100000km.should i changet transmission oil now.

The transmission oil starts breaking down at 30000miles. Most car dealers change the transmission oil and filter at the second scheduled maintenance service at 60000miles. Changing the transmiosion oil is an insurance for the transmission. Make sure to use the specific transmission oil for your car.

03 Alero won't shift to 3rd gear

sorry but time to visit the transmission shop. the only thing you could try first is Lukas Transmission oil sold at parts stores one quart only. make sure you get the oil for transmissions and not the crankcase.

Cannot locate transmission filter or instructions to replace

ok, here's the deal. there are 2 types of transmissions one with an external oil filter( kinda looks like the oil filter for the engine) and then there is the other type of transmission that was produced later on the 4 cylinder engines that doesnt have a removable filter. it does have a screen that is not servicable, it can only be replaced during the rebuild of the transmission. this design is supposed to be "back flushed" to remove all debris. Most good transmission shops have this type of system that pressureizes the system and does this.

If your gonna do this on your own, what you will need to do is buy 4-5 quarts of transmission fluid, drain the oil from the pan on the front of the engine, reinstall it, add the fluid, drive for 30 min, and then repeat the process.
