My daughters 2000 olds intrigue has a blown 40a fuse under the hood in the crank slot of the panel and the headlights keep turning on all by themselves. The car won't start and the battery is charged. Can I suspect more blown fuses or try replacing the fuse and see if there is a short?

SOURCE: 1994 toyota corolla blowing AM2 30A fuse under the hood

On top of the cover of the fuses it will tell you what that fuse was for. Odds are whatever it is, is shorting out and will need to be replaced.

20A ACC/cig fuse, 40A fan fuse (AC) keeps blowing on 05 Sebring.

Disconnect the cigar lighter and see if the short goes away, I will bet it does.

My daughter has a 04 Kia optima that did not come with a manual. Both of her lowbeam headlights aren't working. I am assuming they didn't just blow together. Could it be a fuse and if it is do you...

check your fuses (all of them if you have to) for any that are blown. there is a slight chance that one quit and she didn't notice it and the other finally died. also under the hood near the battery you should be able to locate another fuse panel. take off the lid and try to locate the relay for the headlights it may have failed.

The twenty amp maxi fuse in the under the hood fuse panel goes to, you guessed it, the fuel pump. It sounds to me like you have a short to ground in the wiring that keeps popping this fuse. Find and fix the short, or you will keep blowing fuses.

Adjust headlights on a 2004 Saab 9-3

Check the fuse box under the hood on drivers side, it will be number 17 and a 10 amp. this vehicle has automatic headlight adustment when you crank the car. If the fuse is blown the lights will point down to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.
