I have checked every site that I can think of and run the question many times, unable to get the procedure, maybe a nice tech at the local dealer will help u out, if not I guess buying a service manual might be your only option. I am a retired Ford mechanic, I did almost all the AC work, I never found this problem was a control head issue, it was always the blend door electric motor, I think you can see it from the glove box if you remove the liner.

ok i am going to assume by "holding the turn sinal back" that means the high beams are on. Now i believe that the grand marquis has 1 lo beam and 1 hi beam relay if they are rated at the same amperage you can swap em . The mercury i have has two locations under the hood and under the steering column to the left. In the car it is has a locking tab that you have to pull down to unlock it and it will swing out. In all honesty if you have 20 bucks and want to invest it i would suggest buying an repair guide either way good luck.
