1997 dodge avenger turn signal probs and location

I have a 97 dodge avenger. Turn signals do not work. However, hazard lights work perfectly.  When I changed the fuse, the right turn signal blinks, dash light works (indicating right turn signal) BUT it stays on the right turn signal even when switched to left turn or off position. I cannot get the turn signal for the left to work, I got a flasher unit, but cannot locate where the unit is. I am not even sure if this is where the problem is-
any help and/or advice greatly appreciated.

Replace the turn signal switch it self, mine did the same thing with the left turn signal, put in fuse and it will continue to flash... went to junk yard pulled one out of a 97 avenger just like mine, swapped them out and now it works fine. looked to be like some corrosion... to repace: 3 screws under columb, 2 screws on side of signal switch (black plastic side). unplug and replace

Very true! Had the exact same problem, left turn signal would not stop blinking, right turn signal did not work, hazards worked fine. I went to Auto Zone and paid $70 for one. It took me 20 mins to fix! Thanks for the tips lance_legraf!

  1. Check the fuse make sure it is not busted and also use a designated amp only.
  2. Check the bulb and the wires also.

Problem with my 97 Chevrolet S10 Blazer

I'd look into the multifunction switch. That controles both hazard and turn.

Turn signals won't come on inside or outside of car but hazard lights come on inside and outside of car

Check turn signal fuse, if fuse is good, check turn signal flasher, this is identical to hazard flasher, I believe on the 1997 it is located under the dash near the center console. The turn signal and hazard flashers are the same part number so try switching places with them and see if the turn signals work. If turn signals work after switching them you need a flasher.

Have hazard lights but no running or turn signals

sounds like you need a combo flasher assembly..located in fuse block inside vehicle under steering column..there may be a plastic cover under dash you have to remove to see fuse block..large black relay that plugs into fuse block..if you pick up a new one,you will see what it looks like..available at dodge dealer..combo flasher or drl/signal relay

Turn signals wont work on 95' dodge avenger

try to replace the flasher. it is round and has either two or three prongs on it. it should be by the fuse box.

Turn signals don't work.

It could be several things including the fuse.Do you have a testlight/probe to do a couple of tests? It could be the flasher can.Do the indicators work if you put on the hazard lights? You could try swapping one fuse at a time .Just switch with another fuse of the same color and if they start to work its the fuse and if not its the main supply of power or the flasher can.If the hazards work the circuit from the flasher to the indicators is intact and shouldnt be part of the problem.

Location for turn signal relay

It depends on the model of avenger you have, coupe or convertible. It can either be in the steering column with the multifuntcion switch(basically the turn signal lever and wiper control asembly) or it is in the center console behind the radio.
