Brakes sticking rear - Cutlass Ciera Oldsmobile Cars & Trucks

Sounds like still air in the system...re-bleed...be sure to start at rear wheel farthest away, then next rear, then away front, then close to master cylinder...also did you bench bleed the master cylinder?

Disassemble the rear brake and check the caliper and mechanics of the assembly. Something is sticking and in most cases it is the caliper but could be related to the ABS control module or splitter that is connected to the Master cylinder that the 4 brake lines connect to under the hood. Another possibility is the Emergency brake sticking.

Your calipers are sticking and causing your brakes to drag.Did you clean and lube the caliper slides before you reinstalled them and did you have the rotors turned?I have had this happen to me after doing a rear brake job.One or both of the calipers would stick and I had to replace them.Which means you will have to bleed the rear brakes.(Rear only)Hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions.Good luck.

strip them out again clean the claibers so the new pads slide freely grees with copper grees the pins and stick a spot on the back of the brake pads that sit on the brake pistons,,,not the disk!!! and check the brake pistons are free to move,,you should be able to just push the brake pistons back into the cylinders with your thum only,,,

You could have a parking brake cable sticking, or just your rear brake is over adjusted. Rear brakes can be adjusted in, and after the rear drum is removed, the parking brake cable should be checked to see if it moves in and out. Replace if needed!

Is the piston sticking in the caliper or is the caliper sticking on the outside slides preventing it from moving to the disc?

Check your rear calipers (actuator calipers - the parking brake side will stick and will cause them not to release!)
