Transmission not working right

I put the transmission in drive from a dead stop it acts like it is in third gear and slips, But if I put it in first gear and start moving then put it in drive it works better,But still slips alittle. It acts like the transmission is not building up pressure to ingage the gears all the way HELP? p.s. reverse works fine.

Have the transmission pressure tested to see if it is OK. The shift solenoids may be weak or the valve body may be worn enough to not allow pressure to build. You might just want to rebuild the transmission.

SOURCE: 94 Jeep Wrangler intermittently stalls when put in reverse, drive

Take the air inlet hose off where it enters the throttle body and take a look at the throttle plates. It is likely that they’re dirty and have a build-up of carbon deposits. That is the most common cause for stalling that we see in the shop for your vehicle. Sometimes all it takes is a good cleaning to cure the stalling problem. There is an idle speed setting on your Jeep, but to check and/or perform this service step requires the use of a computer scan tool for your vehicle. If the cleaning doesn’t help ask a repair facility to check and reset, if needed, the minimum idle speed on your Jeep.

Thnx.

SOURCE: 4x4 slips shiftin gears starting and stopping

you might already know but when shifting into 4wd you can shift into 4hi while driving as long as the tires,(all four) are travelling the same speed. you can't shift into 4wd if you are spinning. 4 low you have to completely stop. When you are in 4 low as you know the power of vehicle is greatly increased due to gear reduction. so if you are seeing slipping symptoms, you might want to change transmission filter. It might not be much help to you but it might prevent problems down the road. also when changing fluid be sure to put mopar transmission fluid for replacement on jeep. like gm calls for dexron. the transfer case on dodge and jeeps also takes transmission fluid. I had to replace a t-case on my friends dakota that was making a grinding noise and it turns out a seal had leaked some fluid out and burnt up some bearings. pretty expensive. they are chain driven. hope I didnt get too carried away, because I am not a transmission expert but I just wanted to share what I did know with you.

Why does my 1995 Volvo transmission stop going into gear after it's hot?

1) How's your fluid level?

2) When did you last replace your filter?

3) When it shifted, did it go trough all the gears as you accelerate or did it just stay on one gear and never shifted?

4) How's reverse, does it slip out too after 2 - 3 min?

5) As you first able to shift into gear, you can drive it for 2 to 3 mintues and it just suddenly slip out of gear?

.... could be a number of different things. Maybe even burnt out clutche(s) inside your transmission

No gears work acts like its in neutral

Your transmission is worn out Bands are burnt and probably needs a rebuild or replacement. Not much doubt about it.Sorry bud its dead. Was it a transmission flush you had? With a filter change? What made you decide it was time to have ****** fluid changed? Starting to slip a little, hesitating when starting out, was probably going out before you took it in.

95 eagle vision esi slips out of gear at stops

there is a limp mode but I doubt if that is the problem
It indicates that the torque converter clutch servo/solenoid is faulty
run the fault codes to confirm if that is it or a faulty TCM
check wiring around the transmission

A/T oil temp indicator light came on while driving? Would drive ok but, starting after stopping, the care acted as if I was not getting enough gas or engery?

The transmission is slipping. Problem could be as simple as the transmission being low on fluid. Check this first. If that's not the problem, it should be taken to a shop for service.
