MY 99 buick lesabre has been acting as if it is fludding itself out when I press on the accelerator, if i let off, and then accelate again, it acts fine. When I stop, it also acts as if it wants to die. I'm not sure if it's the EGR valve or the injectors. Please help if you can. Kim
I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem.
I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything
got it from www.reliable-store.com

The paint color code should be on the door sticker, along with the vehicle information.

does the check engine come on? does the check engine light flash during the surge? It sounds like a spark misfire to me. ignition coil packs can cause this problem but it will have to be checked out by a technican to avoid hit and miss diagnostics.

Remove the sight shield from the fuel rail. (it's the large plastic shield that dresses up the engine) As you stand in front of the car the alternator is located on rear left side. In front of it is an electrical connector to the MAP sensor. Remove it. Press the PCV valve cover down and rotate it 1/4 turn counterclockwise. It is actully on the intake manifold. Lift the cover, the upper O-ring and the spring from the housing. Remove the pcv valve and the lower O-ring from the intake manifold.

If it is like the 2002, one is in the engine compartment near the jumping post. The other is under the back seat.
