I'm trying to replace the headlight bulb in my 2005 dodge stratus and i've removed the 2 silver screws that holds the light assembly in but then I'm supposed to pry up plastic pins with a flat bladed tool and they won't come out. I've tried flat head screw drivers, pliers...I don't want to break the pin or force it too much but one of them has already started to split.

Locate the two headlight lens assembly retaining screws at the top of each side of the assembly.
Remove each screw with the ratchet and a suitable socket.
Place the screwdriver behind the lens assembly to assist in prying out the guide pins that secure and align the headlight assembly. Hold the lens assembly from the outside edge (marker light/directional light section) first and pry from behind with the screwdriver to unseat the guide pins. Pry from the inside end of the lens assembly to unseat the other guide pin.
Pull the lens assembly out far enough to reach behind it and disconnect the headlight bulb wire harness from the back of the bulb. Or simply remove the bulb by twisting the harness and retaining ring counterclockwise and remove it as an assembly.
Turn the marker light/directional light socket and wire counterclockwise to remove it from the headlight lens assembly.
Remove the assembly from the front of the Stratus.
Usually, one has to get the entire headlight assembly to replace the lens. Is it cracked? If it is just faded, try some anti-haze polish for headlights. This can save you some money compared to restoring the headlamp by replacing the assembly (which may be available from a salvage yard).
CAUTION Halogen bulbs contain gas which is under pressure. Handling the bulbs incorrectly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. Do NOT leave the light switch ON. Always allow the bulb to cool before removal. Handle the bulb only by the base; avoid touching the glass itself. Whenever handling a halogen bulb, ALWAYS follow these precautions:
Turn the headlight switch OFF and allow the bulb to cool before changing it. Leave the switch OFF until the change is complete.
ALWAYS wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
DO NOT drop or scratch the bulb.
Keep dirt and moisture away from the bulb.
Place the used bulb in the new bulb's package and dispose of it properly.
Not sure of the adjustments but should have 2 screws for each headlight. One to adjust up / down and one to adjust left right. They screws should be along 2 sides but could be top / bottom and left / right.
The bulbs will be accessible from inside the engine compartment. Download the users manual (if you do not have the hard copy that came with the vehicle) and on Page 416, it will show you how to change the bulbs.
Headlight Bulb Replacement 1. Open the hood and remove the two headlight mounting screws. 2. Remove the push-in fasteners for the grill area by prying under the head of the fasteners with a flat bladed tool.
Assuming you mean the bulbs and not the assembly - yes. Look under the hood in the area where the headlight is and you should see a wiring harness going onto the back of the headlight. The headlight is held in by a lock ring. Remove the wiring connector and take off the lock ring by turning it counter clockwise a fraction of a turn. Coax the bulb out (It is a 9007 bulb available at any parts house) and the installation process is the reverse. It is recommended you replace headlight bulbs in pairs - and keep the old working one as a spare.
you need to remove the screws and pushpins on the bumper cover on the side where the headlight is to be changed. then there are two small bolts, one long and one short to be removed from the top of the headlight. then just unplug the wires. this is for a sedan
1. Open the hood and remove the two headlight mounting screws.
2. Remove the push in fasteners by prying under the head of the fastners with a flat blade tool.
3. Gently pry the headlight assembly away from the fender.
4. Turn the retaining ring counter clockwise to remove the bulb.
5. Pull the bulb out of the socket and replace.
6 Reverse the procedure to put the housing back in.
You should have two long star-patterned screws that run through the brackets of it......unscrew thoss and the headlight assembly should pop out and then you can change the bulb or the headlight assembly at that time.
There are 2 screws one the frame above the headlight after you open the engine hood. One screw has a long shaft, both need to be removed and will release the headlight housing. Next you need to pull the headlight assembly out which might mean you have to push down on the plastic surrounding the assembly. Once the assembly is out all you need to do is pull up on the clip that holds the wiring and pull it off. There is a plastic ring around the lightbulb that you need to screw off and then you'll be able to pull out the bulb. Make sure you have a new HB5/9007 type replacement bulb, and do not touch the glass on the bulb with your fingers, if you do take a soft cloth and wipe the glass to remove any oils. After you place the new bulb in the assembly, put everything back in reverse of how you removed it and you'll be finished.
