94 MX3 V6 Loss of power at about 4000 rpm

I have had many new problems with my mx3 over the last 2 years. It all started by getting cut off by a transport on the highway and slamming on the brakes and locking up the wheels from doing 120 km/h. The car ran like **** after. Not revving and stumbling.

I had new plugs, wires, distributor, rotor and cap replaced. Everything ran better but now no high speed grunt. (4000 rpm)

Then the car stalled on me a month later. Once restarted it wouldn't rev past 1500rpm. This time Mazda had to be called upon. I got a new fuel filter and knock sensor. Ouch :(. It ran again but power was down yet again. I took it back to my local import specialist and he replaced the harmonic balancer and checked the distributor again. It was gone once more. After they where replaced the car runs much better again but I'm where I am now with little power over 4000rpm.

What more could there be to replace? I want my little rocket back....

Thanks in advance.

Dave

SOURCE: mx3 idle

your throttle body is dirty and needs to be cleaned- also, you might want to check the spring and the various parts on the throttle itself for wear and tear.

the intake for air and the flutter wing could also be hanging up inside the air intake

93 mazda mx3 was running cut off and won't start

You might check the coil. If there's no spark it has gone bad (around $100.00 at Auto parts stores, if you replace it yourself.) That's the easier one to fix. The other is the distributor. They also go bad, and cause the same problem.

Looking for a engine vacuum hose diagram for a 1993 mazda mx3 GS 1.8 liter v6 i have an idling problem and I am pretty sure it's vacuum related

you can get that diagram from the dealer just ask the guys in the parts dept for a print out,, to locate a loose or broken vacuum line, you can spray some carb cleaner in the areas that you think may have a bad line, the RPM's will jump up when the cleaner is sucked into the bad line
