SOURCE: clutch

It definitely sounds like the clutch has had it. As for the finance company, they're treating it as a pre-existing problem and all they want to do is pay for your part.

SOURCE: My honda odyssey transmission went

Call around or go to the Web and look up LKQ location in St. Augustine FL. If they do not have a transmission, they list all location where one can be found. Odyssey has a decent performance record with transmissions, so you can get a good one with good miles under what you want to pay.
Installing a trans should cost no more than $400. LKQ also offers a warranty with their trans.
Also, call Honda. Often you can buy a new trans for less than a rebuilt cost. If the shop gave you a quote and came off over $1000, question the shops honesty in everything else they say. Do not use used parts in a trans. Parts wear differently and tolerances are very low. Good luck.

SOURCE: battery light comes on when driving

ok, check the battery leads are tight - maybe coming loose, this would turn the battery light on + make it cut out, run poorly etc.
key could be worn, get a new one cut possibly? OR lock could be siezed internally, oil the key, jiggle it in the lock...
the multifunction switch could have come loose - this will make it feel like the lock has jammed if it happens just right, check it by removing the cowl under the steering wheel and looking at the side (opposite to the key) of the ignition barrel - it is on the end of the ignition barrel shaft.
check the fan belt tension/condition?
check the battery itself, for low fluid, serious corrosion or swelling - replace it if any of these signs are present, but if it seems fine have it tested just to be sure before you THEN suspect the alternator - any honest garage should do this for free it takes five seconds! - tell them you think the alternator has had it, could they test it for you...

Testimonial: "thankyou diano455. you have been most helpful will check tomorrow.fingers crossed its only simple problem and cheap to repair lol.xx"

SOURCE: remote start will work intermittently. have tried

Have you changed the battery in the remote?

Do so, then re-introduce the remote to the remote start system following the manufacturer's instructions, and the problem should be solved.

SOURCE: 2002 F350 transfer case shift

Hello, The last I read about the transfer case shift Solenoid, it received its information through a single line from the dash. The Solenoid moves different distances depending on the resistors built in the Selector switch in the dash. Even the LED lightbulb in the Shift knob can affect the resistance.

What you need to test is the Voltage at the Transfer case shift Solenoid wire. You should have a base Voltage, then for each position the Voltage will make a jump. If the Voltage does not make a jump, the dash selector is bad. On some trucks the Selector can be reached from under the dash.

Other dash layouts with consoles can make it necessary to remove the radio and access the Selector that way.

I hope my Solution is very helpful to you.

My toyota fortuner 3l d4d 2007 I notice the clutch pedal feels a bit harder than normal any cause of this?

A harder clutch pedal in your Toyota Fortuner 3.0L D4D 2007 could be indicative of several potential issues. It's important to have a qualified mechanic inspect and diagnose the specific cause, but I can suggest some common reasons for a harder clutch pedal:

  • Clutch Wear:
  • The clutch may be nearing the end of its life and may require replacement. Over time, the clutch disc and pressure plate can wear, leading to a harder pedal feel.
  • Clutch Hydraulic System Issues:
  • The hydraulic system, including the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, or hydraulic lines, could be leaking, damaged, or experiencing air bubbles, resulting in a harder pedal feel. Inspect for any leaks or damage in these components.
  • Clutch Cable Issues (if applicable):
  • If your Fortuner uses a mechanical clutch linkage with a cable, the cable could be stretched, frayed, or damaged, causing increased resistance in the pedal.
  • Clutch Release Bearing:
  • The clutch release bearing may be failing or worn out, causing increased resistance when engaging and disengaging the clutch.
  • Clutch Fork or Pivot Issues:
  • The clutch fork or its pivot may be damaged or experiencing increased friction, making the pedal feel harder.
  • Pressure Plate Issues:
  • The pressure plate, which engages and disengages the clutch, might have issues like wear, warping, or damage, affecting the pedal feel.
  • Flywheel Problems:
  • The flywheel could be worn, damaged, or have hot spots, affecting the clutch engagement and the pedal feel.
  • Improperly Lubricated Components:
  • Lack of lubrication in the clutch linkage or pedal assembly can cause increased friction and result in a harder pedal.
Conclusion.
It's essential to address any clutch-related issues promptly to prevent further damage and ensure the safety and performance of your vehicle. It's recommended to have a professional mechanic inspect and diagnose the specific cause of the harder clutch pedal in your Toyota Fortuner.

Need to know if its normal for an Xtrail clutch to burn out at 69000 km. If not, why would Nissan not cover it under the manufacturers warranty?

A clutch, like a tire and brakes, is a wearable item and simply not covered under warranty. Some clutches last longer than others but that is because of the way it is used. A clutch that is "ridden" will wear out faster than one than is not. And when you replace the clutch, you will have the same wear pattern with the new one unless you change your riding/driving habits.

1992 toy pu ac clutch not engaging, it trys but does not spin cuasing the belt to burn

Common when the clutch has gone out. Those are usually not serviceable. Replace the compressor unit, they almost always come with a new clutch/pully fully assembled. It will be recommended you replace the evaporator and accumulator tube for your warranty on the new compressor. Total cost on parts with R134 recharge kit is usually around $300. Not too bad of a do-it-yourself job.

Our 3 week old Fortuner 3.0 manual 2010 model has had 2 replacement clutches. The problem was eveident when we took delivery on the 19/7/2010. The vehicle shudders in first gear. Toyota is happy to just...

lol. That sounds unusual to me that they would change the clutch. But, I would ask them if the shudder in first gear is due to loose engine mounts or if when they changed the clutch, they used a new pressure plate and checked the flywheel for warpage?

Hello, welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.

You most likely have a bad AC Magnet Clutch relay. The issue you speak of is some`thing I see rather often,

Toyota is aware of premature failures on these relays, and have issued a Technical Service bulletin to rectify this condition.

Suggestion: Head on down to your nearest Toyota dealership's parts department. Purchase a new AC Magnet Clutch relaly, and install it in the relay box in the engine compartment, on the driver's side. Under the lid of the relay box is the diagram for the components. You will be looking for a relay that will be printed as AC MAG C, on the underside of the lid. Pull the old relay out, and press the new one in. It can only be installed one way.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.
