Re: driver door handle will not open door 1993 Honda...
There is a pin in the door handle might have broke off there are two 10 mm nuts that will release the handle but you have to take the door panels off and remove it any local junk yard should have it or can order it for you

This is a common fail on Honda civics, as a small tab breaks off of the door handle assembly inside the door. The door handle assembly needs to be replaced, and the part is about $75 . Often you need to remove the rear lower seat cushion to get the door panel off.
You should have some little plugs in the plastic edge on the bottom that can be popped off, that will expose screws, there is maybe one screw behind the door handle, and maybe a couple in the door pull. Then once it is unscrewed, pop off the plastic retainers that hold it the rest of the panel and up it goes, past the lock button and off, except that it is still connected by wires, you should be able to see what's going on behind the handle without taking the wires loose, just lean it up against the door or the car. There is also a plastic wind barrier stuck on there with the stickiest stuff you ever saw, take off your watch. Hope this helps.
Step one Look at the inside door handle. Behind it you should see a little cover, You pop that off and there will be 2 phillips head screws behind it. remove them.
Pop out the door handle, and unplug the power lock plug,
Youll also have to take the door lock rod, by spinning the plastic door handle 90 degrees until u can wiggle it out.
next remove the sail panel( The little triangle shaped piece in the corner of the door on the top, ( may have a tweeter in it) ( it just pops out)
Next take a screwdriver (flat head) and pry off the cover of the door handle, there will be
2 phillips head screw behind it ( remove screws)
Unplug power window connector (big green plug)
Now just start gently pry the door panel off with a screw driver, see if u can peek behind the panel and see where the panel clips are, and pry near those areas
it s easy just look on panel for caps remove with small scerw driver they should just pop out remove all screws there should be 2 near arm rest area and near handle then there are plastic clips just gently pull on panel near clips when panel is loose disconnect wiring for light or power locks window ect. if u have manual window u need tool to remove window handles
you need to take the panel off on the inside and reach up to the handle....you will find what holds it on on each side of the handle...i do not know exact metric size but loosen the two nuts and unhook latch rod and it can be removed
two philips screw on the handle ( the one u use to shut the door), one on the far right handside in the middle, one in the other handle ( the one u use to open the door with), after u removed all the screws, put a flat screwdriver at the bottom of the panel and pull it off.
My car just got towed and now I cant open the driver door from the inside.
