Code 301 is a cylinder miss on cylinder one, and 316 is a miss detected during startup which is probably caused by code 301. If the plug is firing, you could have an injector problem on that cylinder.
Try moving the coil pack from cylinder 1 to another cylinder (swap locations) and see if the same code comes up. If code is different, then coil pack is bad. Other reasons for miss; bad injector, poor compression. Also, I know you changed plugs already, but always use AC Delco 43-103 plugs on this vehicle.
Hello: Sir, the 301 is telling you that you have a mis-fire on cylinder #3, You may have a bad spark plug, or bad wire going to #3 plug or you may have a ignition unit that is not firing #3 cylinder, With the #3 cylinder not firing it caused the 420 code that means the catalytic converter to be below acceptableefficiency for emission standards. Repair the 301 before you replace the converter
The #6 cylinder is the last cylinder on the right side while you stand in front of the vehicle. Firing order is 1 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2. Potential cause and best case scenario is you have a defective spark plug causing improper ignition. Another scenario is the #6 coil pack is defective. If you have not replaced the spark plugs (30,000 mile intervals), then the issue may be just the spark plug(s).
Please describe miss fire? or do you mean it has a miss? cross fire occurs when plugs are firing before or after they are supposed to if it's missing then that's another issue could you please give more detail?
Did the engine light go on, and you got a miss-fire code? If so, 1st check spark plugs (which u did), then plug wires, if that's not it, the injectors would be next. Let me know how u make out Curt
