How do I intall a new fan belt on a 2004 envoy. I am not sure witch way it goes around the fan

If there is no diagram pasted in the engine compartment, check your owner's manual...or else go to your local auto store warehouse or Chevy dealership...usually the parts counter person can print out the diagram specifically to your vehicle. Since you did not mention the engine specs- I'm going to generically how to install a serpentine belt.

1.) make a loop and slip the loop around the crank shaft pulley
2.) continue looping the belt around the water pump pulley
3.) ...around the A/C pulley
4.) ...and around the idler pulley
Skip the alternator pulley for now- you want to do that one last.
5.) Continue placing the belt around the power steering pump pulley
6.) and over the belt tensioner pulley
7.) Now move the belt tensioner position so that you can loop the belt over the alternator.
8.) Now double check to make sure that the belt is properly and securely fastened around each pulley's grooves. Don't start the motor until you are absolutely sure... and can visually verify that the new belt is installed properly. And don't have anyone (or pets) standing around the car or open engine compartment when you initially start the car just in case the belt breaks...serious injuries can occur!
I've attached a generic drawing it may or may not fit the description of your auto.

How to change the belt on a 2005 Chevy Express 1500?

The procedure required depends on which belt belt you are talking about. The external belt that runs the alternator, water and power steering pumps and A/C is replaced by first locating the belt tensioner. There is a square "hole" in the tensioner that a 1/2 inch breaker bar or torque wrench that is used to release the belt tension so that a new belt can be slipped into place. There is usually a diagram somewhere near the radiator that shows the proper belt path to use. Once the belt is put into place the tensioner is released and allowed to apply the required tension on the belt.

If you are talking about the timing belt, replacement requires removal of the aforementioned accessory belt and removal of the engine timing cover. You will need to refer to a service manual for the correct timing component alignment when installing a new belt. It also has a tensioner similar to the one used for the external accessory belt.

If the timing belt broke while the engine was running there is a possibility with some engines that internal damage may occur. This depends on the engine's valve clearance - check the service manual or a dealer to find out if this is a probability with your particular model. If so, the cylinder head will need to be repaired as well as any potential damage to individual pistons.

I need a serpentine belt/routing diagram 2000 chevy tracker.

For the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker:

Most modern vehicles have the Belt Routing Diagrams on the undeside of the Hood. But the sometimes disappear.

I do not know if you have the 1.6L In-Line 4-Cylinder, or the 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder. Nor what Engine Options you have (AC/No AC, etc.).

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!

We need to replace a fan belt that broke. Does

You can do it. If it takes longer than 10 minutes something is wrong. If its a V8 make sure the tensioner is good, Fan belts rarely just "break" so check all the pulleys.

Engine cooling belt broke. lookin for tips on

Here is a link to a set of videos about how to replace your serpentine belt. http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/how-to-change-a-serpentine-belt-on-your-car-39904/

It's important to know the routing of the new belt when you replace it. There should be a routing diagram in the engine compartment near the top of the radiator. If you don't see one, you can use this diagram as a guide...
