I live in Mexico and there's no certified Jag mechanic here.. I don't know the technical term but the AC is stuck on hot air and I need cold AC! One mechanic said he would have to remove the dashboard. The other said it's above the floor board. The one mechanic said he was going to make it so it stay on cold only as a temporary fix. I don't need the heater where I live. Ever!
The water heater control valves are front right down low behind the radiator and are electricaly operated ,the AC pipe that runs under the engine but above the sub frame could be corroded out as this is a common fault with these cars ,also the electrical solonoids that shut off the heaters can corrode up as well but i have known them to stick open.

I have the same car and had same problem. Your water pump needs to be replaced. That is where the leak is. Not a major job nor that expensive. I recommend using the green 2-year coolant vs. the orange 5-year coolant. The 5 year coolant does not protect well against cavitation (exploding bubbles) which is what caused your water pump leak. (You can research this on the I-net). The standard 2-yr coolant does protect against cavitation.

SOURCE: Where is the mass air flow sensor located on a jaguar x-type
hi from the uk the location of mass air flow sensor on x type jag is as follows==it is on the r/h/side of the air filter cover with jaguar embossed on top? this sensor is just prior to the intake hose that connects to the motorised throttle body from filter connections underneath it to unplug and meter is held by two screws ?if memory serves ? may i suggest you remove the large hose and use a little wd40 or similar to clean /lubricate the throttle butterfly in throttle body throat at this point so as to prevent future sticking upsetting of idling ? hope this helps ?

Has the vehicle overheated recently, if not there is a failure of the Coolant from engine valve controller, that measures flow through the Heater Matrix. Come back with more, as necessary.
