Hi pizzaguy3. the best and safest thing to do is pull off the fuse or relay of fuel pump then run the engine until to shut off by itself, once the engine stop running it means there is no enough fuel pressure on the fuel line. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and secure it, then put rag under the fuel filter to absorb the fuel will drip, then you can start replacing fuel filter..

My 94 nissan maxima runs good till it gets hot then it wants to fall on its face when you get on it going down the road then it picks back up but if you ease the gas down it does ok

It is possible you have a fuel system issue. Check your fuel pressure first. This model has two different engines (SOHC or a DOHC). The fuel pressures specifications are the same. 36 psi (250 kPa) at idle (with vacuum) and 43 psi (294 kPa) at wide open throttle (no vacuum). Also check the fuel filter for contaminants. Your question indicates a fuel filter replacement, but make sure you check the pressures.

1994 jaguar xj6 replaced fuel pump, distributor cap and rotor. Will start sometimes but runs rough then stalls. There is no fuel pressure or should I say maybe 15 when it is suppose to have 80.Have to keep...

Fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum line attached to the pressure regulator 34 to 38 psi. with the vacuum hose connected the pressure should be 42 to 45. Try to collapse or block the return line and see if the pressure goes up.Also closely inspect the MAF air duct for torns and false air

How do i use the fuel filter installation tool for 94 thunderbir

Be sure to relieve the fuel system pressure first.

Snap the tool over the fuel line and push it into the fitting to release the locking fingers.

Once both fittings are released grasp the fuel hoses, one at a time, and pull them straight off the filter.

Watch out for fuel spillage.

Can't find fuel schrader valve on a 94 Buick Century

You could check pressure and flow at the fuel filter. If the exhaust is VERY quiet it could be a plugged catalytic converter.

Fuel filter location for 1996 honda odyssey

All of the fuel filters with exception of the V6 Odyssey models are located on the vehicle's firewall, in line with the fuel line feeding the engine's fuel rail. The fuel filter on the 3.5L V6 Odyssey is located in the fuel tank and requires fuel pump removal to access. Fuel filters located on the firewall should be replaced if the fuel filter exhibits signs of seepage or corrosion. Always replace a fuel filter and its sealing washers if the fuel system has become contaminated, if the fuel system fuel pressure drops below specification prior to replacing the fuel pump, or whenever the fuel pump is replaced.
