I have had the TPs changed twice in my truck will last about a wek or so and then will act up again off and on when this happens the rpm will increace and fluctuate up and down and truck will not shift properly very high rpm befoe will shift from first to 2nd and to third ...hard shift and high rpm when this happens
Get the help from service and repair manual and fix the problem by your own easily and you can get the manual from the given link easily http://toolsnyou.com/

Are you sure the TV ( trans shift cable at the throttle valve) cable is correctly adjusted?? Without line pressure readings, I can only guess that the D3/Part throttle check ball is missing, if it is a trans problem
If the TV is correct, I am assuming that the TV cable is pulled tight at WOT.
Did you check the throttle (ACCEL) cable to be sure that the carb goes wide open when your accel pedal is on the floor?? This must be done with someone in the car and a second person looking at the carb. Without doing this, you do not know if you have WOT. Without WOT, the trans will not de-tent and shift down.
SOURCE: Engine RPM too high when transmission shifts. Bangs into gear.
check your fluid level when the car is warmed up
SOURCE: slight miss in engine, hard shift from 1st to 2nd long 2nd gear
Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.
SOURCE: 1994 silverado 4L60E transmission not wanting to shift corrrect
If you have not worked on a 4L50E transmission before, leave it to someone who is familiar with the the 4L60E. The solenoid is in the valve body and i know some who have put things back together and needed to take it apart again over something simple as a servo pin in revers. Best thing to do is get the truck scanned at Auto Zone free of charge or at a transmission shop with a tech 2 scanner for DTC codes. If there is a bad throttle body sensor or it's misaligned, it would affect your transmission's performance. The throttle body sensor send's signals to the ECM which calculates the amount of transmission fluid pressure though out the shift points, if that signal is bad then your shift points and firmness will be affected. There is also a cheap and great performance upgrade for around $50.00. You have a Transmission shop swap out the servo's for a Corvette servo's, it can be done in 30 min with out taking the transmission down or removing the transmission oil pan off.
Recap, have the transmission fluid and oil changed and have the throttle body sensor tested. It should show a smooth gradual increase in resistance with out any fluctuation. You truck is 15 years old and it may have a dead spot on the sensor now and it may need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted, Be glad to help and you can also have the transmission shop do a transmission pressure line test.
1) Maladjusted TPS
2) Defective TPS
3) No +5 volt reference to TPS
4) TPS-return to ECM is shorted to ground or to sensor ground
5) Defective ECM
Good luck, i hope this helps.
