Radio keeps scanning wont stop

if the battery has been disconnected or failed ,then that will be the reasons for nor radio and the immobilizer working

Who told you to use WD40? WD40 is a lubricant, it leaves a residue. And it can short out your radio. It could be the scan button is shorted or if it doesn't pick up stations, a problem with the antenna or receiver.

Its automatic. AWD is different than 4WD. AWD keeps all the wheels working independently. Where 4WD keeps all wheels working no matter what. No need to worry about anything on an AWD set up. Speed doesnt matter, however in my opinion stopping and letting it kick in or out is best. Just in case a part acts up it wont do anything odd at high speeds.

Scan with Lexi 3 scanner and get it reprogrammed.

the wearing on the tire is a separate problem i would assume it would be the wheel bearing/hub assembly those can go bad simply by hitting a pothole to hard why it wouldn't start is beyond me

Radio needs replacement.

I have a 94 Kia sephia and had the same issue try unplugging the timing control box located above the fuse box my car runs perfect and doesn't try and make me look like I'm stealing it anymore. Sincerly Alex.

When the fuse for the back lights pops, does the radio stop working? If yes, then you will need to check for a short-to-ground in the area of the radio where your husband hooked up the memory wire- possibly the insulation of the wire has rubbed through and is touching metal somewhere, or perhaps the electric tape he used to cover the splice has fallen off. If the radio still works with the back light fuse blown, then it is highly unlikely that the radio has anything to do with the matter. In past experience, I have seen a Ford pickup with a similar problem, and it turned out that one of the taillight bulbs was shorted internally. Very unusual, but happened nonetheless. Good Luck!!

If the radio will not stop scanning usually the antenna is either disconnected or faulty. You will need to remove the radio and check the antenna connection at the back side. The small pin in the middle goes to the antenna and the metal sleeve around it goes to ground or the metal of the car body. If everything is good with the antenna then the radio may be faulty.

the wires conneting to the radio up to the battery is groung the radio.
