What rims are on the car the steel police ones and what tires are on it could be hitting the stops on the frame and where the proper bolts put back in on the rack mounts and did you go with the heavy rack for the police car .Cause when I built them there was an issue with the proper bolts and there was a different rack for the cop cars the to the basic crown vic do to the suspension upgrade on it and the diffrent pump

94 Camry steering hard to turn like it has no power steering. It has the rack replaced and steering knuckle replaced
Does the power steering have fluid in it. Is the belt on the pump. With it running take the cap off of the pump and see if fluid is moving around. If u feel the steering knucle is to tight u can also take the tie rod off and see if it turns free. Also go back to who fixed it and say its not right, Make it right. Most garages give 12 month or 12.000 mile warranty.

Sounds like its the Rack & Pinion. Hard turning is a tell-tell sign. I'm wondering if it's also harder to turn left, than it is to the right. It will only get worse, and you may loose steering altogether. Left will usually quit first, and it really gets your attention when it does!!

A good shop can replace it for $400 to $500. Make sure that includes the required front-end alignment. It'll drive like a new one....

My steering wheel is really sticky when im making turns i throught it needed power steering fluid but that wasn't the case. Can anybody tell me what could it be?
Its the steering arm, under the hood drivers side, it connects the steering column shaft to the steering gear box. The small universals get really rusty. causes it to bind. don't try to lube them it doesn't work. About $50.00 from ford.

87 honda.. power steering not working. fluid was disappearing. mechanic found a leak at the boot. replaced the rack with a new one. we drove it and it was now hard to turn like pump not working. took 2...
power steering fluid does NOT go anywhere near the boot.but when you fitted a new rack did you turn steering wheel fully left and right several times to prime the rack and then check the fluid.....half a quart is a lot of fluid to add to the system (change your mechanic ASAP)MY BICHON COULD DO BETTER....

99 crown vic police interceptor steering wheel??
i have ran into 2 issues in these vehicles---if it binds while sitting still also, check the steering shaft, i have found the u-joints in the shaft tighten up and binds dangerously tight---if they are free, sounds like you may have a steering box issue or restriction in a line---hope this was helpful!!

Key will noot turn in the switch
try turning the steering wheel left and right while turning the key, sometimes when you park with your wheels turned it will lock the wheel and key. you may have to put a little force into turning the wheel, nothing that will make u sweat... hope this helps you and good luck!!!

Have you checked the fuel filter. Fuel pump will pressure up, but fuel filter could be clogged and not work without the pressure of the fuel pump.
