I have 96 s1o that will start and idle but when you give it gas it bogs down. the check engine light is not on so my scanner is saying pass no faults detected. my spark plugs are black. i have disconnected each wire individually and the truck runs the same. there is no backfire or dieseling

Short the test terminal, and read blinking engine light blinks, count them they will be fast and pause and be fast again each code is 2 digits long. This will help me to solve your problem. Thanks

fuel lines inside the intake plhenum may be cracked and leaking inside the plhenum. same thing happened to my 1992.sonoma. they are made of a plastic material and tend to crack right in the bend of these lines.

It may just need a tune up (new plugs/wires/fuel and air filters). On the other hand it may bad fuel to air ratio. Why your check engine light doesn't come on is a little odd. You might want to check your O2 sensors, just my .02.

check that your map sensor has direct (unregulated) vacuum. I don't believe that the purge solenoid can create that kind of problem.
