Passat rear drivers side door won't open

Can't open rear drivers side door using either handle. Door locks and unlocks fine. Pulled off the door panel and lifted door lock knob, this opened the door. Do I have to replace the latch or can it be fixed?

On a similar problem i removed the window controll switch unit on the drivers door and cleaned the multipin socket and this solved the same and other problems i had.

Driver's side door won't open from inside or outside

Check the linkage between the lock cylinder and the lock; when the latch was loose, the linkage may have broken or otherwise disconnected. The lock/unlock rod to the latch will be accessible inside the door for manual operation rather than using the lock cylinder or interior lock in the door panel. If this is the rear door on the driver side, additionally check the position of the child safety lock; when this is in the ON position, the inside door handle function is disabled. My keyless entry for my 2008 Volvo s 40 won't work. I've tried replacing the battery but it still doesn't work. Anything I may can do before spending money on a new key.?

How are you trying to open the door , button on key fob ? With this system you can pull up on the drivers handle an it activates Antennas in the external side door handles (C30/C70 front doors, S40/V50 rear doors)
  • Antennas in the passenger compartment and cargo compartment
  • An antenna in the rear bumper
  • Quick lock motors in the lock units in the side doors
  • The remote keyless entry (RKE) receiver receives a signal from the key
  • The switch in the clutch pedal (manual transmissions) or a signal from the brake pedal switch via the central electronic module (CEM) (automatic transmissions)
  • Key-in switch.
  • Switch in door handle and lock button on handle .
If a door handle is pulled outward, a switch closes that wakes up the system and activates the antennas in the handles on the side where the handle has been pulled out. If a valid key is within a radius of approx. 1.5 metres from the handle, the relevant door will open and the vehicle will unlock one or several doors. Which doors are unlocked depends on the settings for the system. The vehicle can also be unlocked if the handle is affected on the tailgate.

Rear pontiac grand am door stuck

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am with both power windows and door locks. Everything else works except the lock assembly on the rear driver side rear door latch. I have removed the inside panel , aboth rods are connected. all power is disconnected to that door. I moved both of the rods correctly and the door will slightly open but that is all. How can I get it to release so I can repair or replace the latch and lock if nescessary ? I had the same problem only reversed with the frond door it would not close but after some trying I fixed that problem.

I need a diagram of the locking mechanism in my 2001 nissan sentra so that i can use a slim jim to unlock the passenger side door.

I don't have a diagram of the door but if you slip the slim Jim in over the top of the outside door handle it should catch on the latch bar. If you are doing this because the door won't open from the interior handle or the outside handle the problem most likely isn't the lock. The way that handle connects to the release it is held in place with a piece of plastic that breaks fairly easy. If that piece breaks the interior door handle won't activate the unlock function when pulled and you will have a heck of a time getting the door opened so you can get inside the panel to do the repair.

2006 buick lucerne back doors won't open

My friend just had this problem and he reached in and pulled the inside door handle back as far as it would go, and then let it go, allowing it to 'snap' back. For some reason this fixed it. We have no idea why. By doing this on one door, both rear door locks freed up and the rear locks are now working. Before, both rear locks were stuck and you could not open the doors from the inside nor the outside. Not sure why it works, but maybe it will work for you!

The rear right hand side door will not unlock and cannot be opened from the inside or outside all other doord are operating properly. the car is a vw passat 02

My 1998 passat done the left rear and drivers side then all.Take out the drivers side lock barrel, open door and undo 1 torx screw until it stops(it cant be removed fully) and then pull the handle lightly half way and wiggle the barrel out.Spray wd40 onto the inner bits and try get it into the plastic slot area(operates the sensors that cause this problem) . Put back and tighten up and then do this to all doors.Lubricate all door lock catches by spraying wd40 into every hole or orfice you see and that should help.

1999 Volkswagen Passat inside inner door panel

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
