2004 Honda Accord Radio fuse blows

I have a 2004 Honda Accord. One day while driving the radio just stopped working. We smelled some burning, but it went away and since the radio wont play and everytime I change the fuse it blows right away

O.K thank you. I guess I will still have to go to a dealer to remove the radio. I am told that there is a special tool required.

There was a recall for the 03-04 Accord radio. It had faulty circuitry that caused the screen to go dim. Check with Honda to see if they'll still honor the recall.

The fuse is blowing because you have a short circuit somewhere. And since you can smell it it must be inside behind the dashboard. Take the radio out...and trace the power connection through the wiring harness,,,maybe it was pinched at some point behind the dash. If you do find the black/scorched mess...you will need to cut that wire and splice in a new piece with crimp-on connectors. Also inspect the wires adjacent to the burnt one to make sure they too didn't get damaged. Please don't splice it in unless the battery cables have been removed. Also "Sniff" the radio, maybe it is what burned on the inside..follow your nose...it always knows. hope this helps.

My 1997 honda accord radio screen is blank only the red power button is on and the clock above radio is dim and resets itself everytime i start the car, i check the fuse box inside the car and all fuses...

If it's fuse 36, it should have a 15 amp fuse.
Do not confuse this fuse with the radio backup fuse, which is 7.5 amps but runs a lot of other circuits.
Put in a 15 amp fuse.
If it burns, the lighter may have a short.

My radio and c/d player will just shut off out of

There is a factory default with the radio circuit board in radios installed in 2003-2004 Honda Accords. Honda will replace or repair the radio free of charge on and extended warranty. The radio will eventually fail for good. I know, as the one in my 2004 Accord failed in March of this year. My Honda dealer replaced the radio with a reconditioned unit absolutely free. Contact you local Honda dealer.

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

I have no power to the the radio

You will have to chase your power wire back to the fuse panel and/or the battery itself. The burning smell was more then likely the main power cord burning up. Replace it and it should all work well.
