1985 4x4 chevy Blazer cranks up, runs rough, then shuts off. Found a bent push rod, did repairs for that plus replaced timing chain and all other things I could think of, with no luck. Blazer still starts, runs rough and shuts off.
Have you checked, cady, fuel tank, is it getting the right amount of gas and air? plugs and wires, go with general mantinence first then step up. i have a 85 s10 blazer that was a lemon off the lot but has over 300000 on it and it has the same prob i fix it tempurary by flipping the lid on the breather upside down so it gets more air

Yes, compression was checked which led to bent push rod. Engine has around 94,000 miles. Drove car, it was fine. Next time I cranked it up, wouldn't run, backfired thru carb. What am I missing?
Yes, did all general maintenance plus plugs and wires. Pump in gas tank is working fine,,gets plenty of gas. Thought vacuum leak, but didn't find any so far. Thanks for reply.
