1999 Isuzu Troopers w/automatic transmissions do not come with a dipstick. It is a sealed transmission just like a manual transmission. The fluid must be checked by removing the fill plug. Emergency brake on, engine running, warmed up ,vehicle in neutral. When removing the fill plug ,which is on the side of transmission- at the top, fluid should slightly drip out. If fluid doesnt drip out you need to add fluid. You will need a small hand pump to fill it.

modern cars now have no stick
they makers of cars learned that most wrecked transmissions were cause by customers.
over filling it and now it foams up and wrecks bearings inside, air is not any kind of proper lubricaten
so a shop (real) drains it , then adds fresh by careful measured volumes,
and there my be 3 or more transmissions types used in car so we the spec on that and read it and do it correctly.
the service manual on your car explains all this , best is read it. first then ask questions.
learn to read that , and not ask folks here that have NO IDEA at all what is there.
best is leave it be.
or get a real shop (USA go to ASE shops only) not jiffyboobs.
or go here
