No charging I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 diesel. It is not charging the batteries and it is not registering on the volt gauge. Before this when it was cold you could hear the charging click in and out and you could see it on the gauge as well. Is this the alternator or something else?

May or may not throw a code, have you had the alternator checked, this sounds like a bad alternator and also you charged the batteries but have them tested also, this sounds like an alternator problem.
ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING? WHAT IS YOUR CONCERN? 13.8 VOLTS IS PRETTY GOOD FOR DIESEL ALTERNATORS I'VE SEEN IN MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE DODGE DIESELS
Replace the fuse and check the wire from the alternator to the fuse for damage. Also check the batterys before you change the fuse and after with the truck running with a volt meter. After the fuse replacement the battery should read 14 to 15 volts. Also check the fluid level in the battery. If the cells are low you can put distilled water in them to bring them back up to proper level. Hope this will help you.
I had the same problem on a 94 dodge with the cummins. It seems the crank sensor that reads from a notch on the harmonic balancer was the problem Without this sensor reading that the engine is running the alternator wont charge. Possibly the same problem with yours
