You can take a look under the hood at the fuse and relay box. the fan relays are probably just old and worn out and need replacing. try this and also try and follow the wire back to the relay box to make sure its connected. If this doesn't work, you can always run a power wire straight to the fan so when you turn the key it comes on and stays on. It should just be a bad relay. good luck

SOURCE: What fuse # controls the in cabin fans on a 2004 Honda CRV?

The fuse box is located under the steering wheel to the right. A diagram on the back of the removable door should show you which fuse to check. You will likely need a pair of needle nose pliers to reach/pull the the fuses, they're recessed beyond the opening.

SOURCE: 1996 honda

you know the fans are ok most honda have a two terminal switch at the right corner bottom of tthe radiator if you put a jumper across this terminal the fans should kick in, this indicates that the coolant temp sensor is bad replace it, secondly some honda have a temp sensor located right on the thermostat housing and you can disconnect the wire and just ground the wire and the fan should come on so replace the temp switch last thing to check for is coolant leak around the readiator seem i mean the edges the radiator being fiber glass may have hair crack through which antifreeZe keeps leaking out the only suggestion for honda is to replace the radiator.

Fans not running

You may have a 2nd problem. Those fans should run when the car gets warmer than usual. The TDI you have is VERY good about being efficient, and produces little waste heat. Those fans don't come on anywhere near as much as a gas burner BUT they need to come on when you're really working the engine or it's a very hot day. Fan motor failure was common on these cars. With engine running turn on the A/C- this activates both fans to kick on. Do both fans kick on ? If yes- could be temp sensor, also a commonly replaced part- if no check fans. With battery disconnected (for safety) spin the fans by hand. Are they stuck or do they sound awful ? Fan motors may be shot. If fans spin free may be fan relay- check for power at fan connectors with engine running and A/C on

I have a 1991 acura legend the cooling fans are not working properly they come on when the car is cold and after the car warmes up and even gets hot they dont come on

The fans are controlled by a thermostat which receives information from a sending unit which detects coolant temp. Probably one of those, most likely the thermostat. Either or both should be easy and inexpensive to replace

Car is overheating, Fans wont turn on

First are you sure the fans are good. Unplug the fans and hook directly to the battery and see if they turn. One fan is for the engine and should come on when the car gets hot. The other generally comes on when the a/c system is on. If both fans work hooked directly to the battery they are good go to the cooling fan switch or temperature switch (same thing different name) and make sure it is good. This tells the fan to kick on when the car gets hot. The other one kicks on when a switch on the a/c system tells it to kick on. Check and make sure you are getting power to the fans. Get a test light and ground it to a good ground on the car and probe the plugins going to the fans and insure there is power coming to them when the car is running. If no power fuse is bad or the sending unit is bad.

96 monte carlo coolant problems;changed thermostat, added coolant, fans came on; car overheats and coolant hot light comes on and car shuts off

Is coolant flowing through the radiator? Possible water pump, radiator blockage, or air flow to/through the radiator blocked or restricted. When the fans come on is there warm air coming from them?

Good Luck

HOT QUICK even at night !

so are you saying the fans aren't coming on? then yes, that's probably the problem. Start the car and watch the fans, but don't let the car overheat. If it starts to get too hot and the fans haven't come on, well first shut the car off before the head gaskets go, then find out why the fans don't work. Check fuses and relays, power and ground at fan motor, if all good replace fan assembly.
