Where are the motors for a 525i front seat?

Help and videos in the link. Sometimes you can get into the trunk from the back seat and pull the emergency handle.

Its come off the connecting linkage or the motor drive is disconnected. Can you hear the motor operating but no movement?
The window sliding and the motor running means; Off with the door trim and all will be revealed.

If you are looking to just remove the rear seat bottom all you have to do is pull up on the front edge

Try under the back seat.

The location of the battery in the BMW 525i series is under the back seat on the passengers side. To access the battery, grab under the front portion of the back seat and pull upward with some force. There are two slips into which the seat is secured. One on the passenger side and one on the drivers side, again in the front of the back seat. There is not one in the center.

All rear seats come out with a good pull! Reach down behind the seat and give it a yank. It should let go, if not, try slamming it back from the front and lifting the front. It will come out. Hope this helps.

I found the owners manual and it says take it back to BMW!

Most other posts I found on the net say it is under the passengers side rear seat. But I guess that depends on if you have a right hand or left hand drive.

This is a common BMW problem before giving to a mechanic try looking at the mechanism to see if any bolts are loose or missing,you might find the bracket is broken or torn and needs to be welded or replaced,the job is relatively easy but be carefull because of the SRS system if not sure give it to an expert.

there are 2 cables that come out of the motor that operates that feture. Over time the outsdie tube of the cable streaches, causing the cable that turns inside, to come out of the transmission is drives. One way to fix this is to remove this cable and shoren the outside tube by cutting it, and then re-insall back into the transmission. This is a 50/50 chance repair. The correct way to cure this issue is to replace the lower seat frame. $$$

i have all the info you need..had to do this on my brothers care...short answer is the cables stretch inside their housings.. once seat is removed you trim the casing around the cables 1/4 and reinstall the end caps on each one to make them match their paired partner cables..stupidest thing bmw ever did having two cables to control each movement causing the chairs to twist and buckle like that..compare at $1000 to have qualified service do it for you...
